How to Choose Body Massage Oil
Picking a great body massage oil involves more than just choosing one with a pretty fragrance. Different oils have different textures and get absorbed into the skin at different rates so some can make the skin seem oily or can make the skin stay slick for a long time. Some have therapeutic properties. In order to make your massage stand out from other practitioners it's smart to come up with your own unique body massage oil for your clients. You can sell bottles of your original body massage oil and use it in massages so that clients will keep coming back to get it. Here are some tips for choosing or making your own body massage oil:
Blend - Blend several different oils together in different proportions to create a truly unique body massage oil base. Start with an oil like Sweet Almond oil that is well tolerated, not greasy, and has a light smell that blends well with other scents. Add other oils like Safflower oil or Flaxseed oil to create a base oil, then add your own fragrance blends.
Use essential oils - When it comes to creating a unique massage oil you should always use high quality essential oils to scent the concoction. Fragrance oils are not usually well tolerated and can cause skin irritations or rashes and the scent can be overpowering. Essential oils like Lavender, Sandalwood, and Rose are relaxing, beloved by clients, and won't irritate the skin. Stay away from citrus oils and cinnamon essential oil since they can cause skin irritations in some people.
